Okay, so this is the confidential report out. Um, we discussed this matter. All those in favor? Opposed? That carries. We discussed this item. All those opposed? Carries. Uh, this will be Honourable Member to, uh, their comments. It's kind of cool. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Mambo number 5. Just because I know it'll be gone at some point. It's funny, some of the guys are really sensitive over that, uh, and I'm like, hey, if I need to get a place in service, I don't care. That's the priority. Oh my. Yeah, the elections are over. Yeah. Like, seriously, like, I am— listen, I am a nonconformist. I'm the first person to say speak your mind, right? But let's have a little bit of class. No, she was, uh, she was— you know what, like, I live in Ajax, right? So our counselors are boring compared to yours. So I'm just She's now the new mayor. I met her actually. She was a very lovely lady. I mean, again, that's the persona she presented to me. Now what she's really like, we'll see that, but she's been sitting for a while, so She had a lot of good things to say, which, you know, when I asked her, like, some of the things that I asked her about. You know, how much we've grown and how the infrastructure has lagged behind. Yes. And why do we need to move up? Into bakery? It honestly, it's a contentious issue with me because I look at it and I go, so we're paying for counselors, we're paying for like all the logistics that goes into that. And our property taxes are through the roof. And it's like, guys, do we really need it? Like, I love A-Tracks. I love things, you know. Simple word to spell. It's, you know, 4 letters. It's great when you're writing your address, right? That's all amazing. I'm paying a lot of money for that privilege. Ford was considering that all the time. I just, you know, I just don't get it. I don't get why we need it. All right, so let's go to these amps because that's the one thing I want to see. Uh, let's see. Yeah, um, do you want to play that again? And I'm just going to open up these amps just so I can see. On/off. Huh. But yeah, you should be good now. Uh, what's the first official? November 16th. Yeah, yeah, I'm scheduled for that, but I have it somewhere in my calendar. So that— I'm actually looking forward to it, to be honest with you. It's kind of a new day. So who does the officiating? Is it the mayor that does it, or— no, there would be— it's just That does the, uh— oh, that's kind of new, Dave. I've never even thought of that. That's right, you go to City Hall to get married. So they want like— you can just do the 6 signings. Yeah. Download it into the one of the admin PCs. And share it that way. left and right chambers. Right, so now play your music. But it's writing it. Yeah, because you're choosing it here. Sorry. Yeah, so you're choosing it in there. So if I chose it to PC 2, then— or sorry, Admin 1, then yes. Okay, yeah, sorry, that's right. Sounds louder now. The delegates, you know. Right, because like, yeah, so now you're sending it out to the, um, the gallery. Yeah, the gallery. That's why it's a different noise level. Okay, Sandy, when you're ready to speak— oh. Nice, nice. Okay, Sandy, when you are ready to speak, you can, uh, let me know. And you'll have 10 minutes. So. Shoot. Hey, Andy. Is that meant for me? No, it's just your. So it. All right. Okay. All right, I'd like to ask Janine Curry to approach the, the desk. When you're ready, you press the right button on your. Press the right button on your microphone. Press the right button on your microphone panel when you're ready to speak. Good morning, Mayor Ashe and members of council. I'd like to come before you to discuss the Northeast Pickering Secondary Plan. Here's the this, the that, this. The that, the that, the that. Yeah, lots of stuff going on here. Okay, cool, cool, cool. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Testing 1, 2, 3. Testing 1, 2, 3. Testing 1, 2, 3. Hello. Hi. Hello. Yep. Hello. Okay, great. Going through all the designations. I think I'd like to remove that. urgent, but it's just not, not something to hang ourselves up on today. Okay, um, so in turn, before the meeting starts, I'll just skip to the, uh, third part. Open Doors in Entrepas. So that's the software that's loaded on these computers. Dale and Adam got that sorted. Oh, excellent. So it's audible as well. That's good. Yeah. Learning Canvas session. Yeah, you, you know that that opened just now. So that would be— is it Q? Yeah, I think that's pretty audible. Yes. And then what does the screen show when you actually open those doors? The screen shows whatever meeting mode we're on. So, so right now you're in open. So at the 30-minute mark, we'd still be in pre-start, so it'll still say meeting begins shortly. Okay. Are those doors locked again? Yeah, because I don't want her coming in here. They are locked. So, um, So at the 30-minute mark, it'll still be in pre-circles. Yeah, yeah, if people show up, they should be allowed to come in. Okay. 30 minutes I think is good for anybody who is a— wants to get a, a seat. Like, you never know, you never know. I don't want to be the one saying she didn't open the door. Doors until 15 minutes. Like, if it's a, if it's a crazy night, there's a lot of people here, whatever. Um, so then we have pre-search. We would check at this point that I do the IT, that they're— that the livestream's also going to our YouTube, which it should automatically. To delegates that are remote. Yeah, not inside, not here. No, because that, that just works like normal, right? It works like— okay, so that's, that's just remote delegates that you're checking. in person. Sort of test of. It's right up until 5 minutes. Which is when we take the slide down. So what happens if somebody joins after that? What if you have like a delegate that's on the list and they don't join until right at 7 and you have no ability, the meeting's already started? It's the same now. They join late now. I don't test them. No, so they just sit there in the queue with everybody else. I still love the infinite waiting. So they can't turn their microphone on, so they won't be able to disrupt anything. Okay, good. No, that's how it's set up. So all delegates, including in person, they have to hit their microphone. And the chair's gonna have to press that they're okay to speak. Yeah, so I see right now Sandy Public. That's me. Is that— are you remote? Yeah. Yes, so you must have hit request. Yes. Okay, you're able to hit that and I can see the room. Oh, okay. Okay. So it'll be more or less status quo. Yeah. Right. Between— I would say between— I think it was a 7 o'clock meeting. Join between 6:30 and 6:45. Yes. So we can go over audio check with you and you can wait for the meeting to start. Like, I think that's, that's reasonable. And if they come in late, well, they come in late. Our rules say if something happens, it doesn't negate anything. So either way, the chair is releasing requests to speak from everyone except staff. That's the way you set it up. Good. Yeah. I think it's better. So the other way for delegates is that we can just give them no microphone. Right. Why so much feedback? Feedback on all of them. All of them have feedback. So did he adjust the levels like you asked him to for public? Different calls. Like all 3 of those, a little bit of data, and did they get feedback as well? Testing 1, 2, 3. Oh yeah, that's very loud. No. Like, do they test it? Like, do they turn the mics on and test it when they do these changes? It's so frustrating. Oh, the gallery here, not outside. Sorry. And the lobby speakers work. We've tested that. You might need that for inaugural. Yeah, we need, we need to test that. You may have that. Yeah. Scenario at the inaugural if we have overflow. So if I All we're going to say is testing, testing. That's it. This is a test of the microphone system. Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3, testing. You're getting that same feedback. No kidding. Yeah, but you can hear it. You can hear it, but you get that— is it, is it loud? No. Okay. They turn them off, maybe. We're not— the TVs are still CP24 though. Yeah. Oh, they are? Okay. Oh, interesting. So you can— so how do you get the, the room shut up there. That shows automatically and the sound is separate? You have to turn it on manually? No, it shows automatically, but I manually put CP24 on. Okay. Okay, so in a situation where you have overflow and you're in a meeting, are there— is the meeting always Showing on the screens, but there's no audio. I must say, man. Okay, so they're always— so when you're in a meeting, it is open session, they're always going to show it out there. That's right. People walking around will see it, they won't hear anything. If we have deliberate, deliberate overflow, you're only not only broadcasting it, but you're turning on the speakers. Okay. Yeah, so we would probably know. Yeah, you know, it's not going to happen very often. Um, okay, so the ambient mic is on 5 minutes prior, and that's just a simple talk. And then the chair's going to sit down. All means of order. mic on, this is the view you get. So for call to order, O Canada, moment of reflection, Indigenous land statement, all the way to declaration of minutes. Nobody's talking. Except him, and it's just going to be him on the screen the whole time. The O Canada. And the moment of reflection. Well, we could take— we can instruct him to. Or we're going to have to manage it on your side, Andy, that when O Canada is playing— now O Canada plays, so I think there needs to be a bit of a— I think council's the word. Worst from a production standpoint. It's more difficult, right? Because O Canada, he says, okay, please stand if you're able for the— our national anthem. Or whatever he says. And then when he stands, if he forgets to turn that mic off, you're going to have to flip it off. Because then you go back to room view. I think, but I think you should, I think you should, when he stands, you should turn off his mic. get back to the room. And then you see everyone has stood. And then you do your video. I think that's just like from a, from a visual perspective. Can you do that? Can you turn me off or no? Sorry, Molly, just pause there for a sec. So this is the other part though. You only see the chair when he's talking and says, okay, we're ready on camera, can I have motion of the camera? So unless the members turn on their mic and say, I move it, I second it, they share the screen, there's no show of hands. Nobody sees it if you're watching the video. No one sees it. Or it's going to be this view. What about that kid, please? I think that's the way it's set up, but I would allow that if you ask. What if you do it right now? If you activate it, what happens? This, this is— this says mosaic view is on. Oh, but Hmm. I'll have to ask Martin about what Well, there's, there's ability for you to play, I think, a presentation and have the delegate in the corner. We have that. It doesn't do anything. It's only when I have like a display. like admin 1 or admin 2 selected. I could probably ask him to put— I think this is what we asked him to put, like a display option in here that's just the overview of the room. And then we could pivot. in the corner or something like that. Mhm. And so, and this is So the saved preset that comes on in Open Session is the gallery's too high. But the reason too is that if they And then you'd be able to. Then you will be able to also see the raised hand. You guys are not going to be able to see. Then. Here's what's the back. So we're fine. They abstain, it's a no vote. It's a no vote under the— under our procedures, right? Right. Very good. Through that. Okay. If it's abstained, it's no. Right, it just shows up as no. But in the minutes, we would show it as abstain because we have a column inscribed for abstain. So just because of it displaying here, it still means no, but in the minutes it would show that they abstained. It's still no in the minutes as well, right? Yeah, it just shows it. And the minute is the record. You have to remember that. I mean, it is our official record. This in here is nice, but it's not our official record. Yeah, Martin did tell me that if we want to get a vote to get it changed, now we could. No, it's not worth it. Not for the 7 seconds it's on the screen. Because if they abstain, they abstain. Yeah, right. I'll note it in the minutes. But you're gonna have to make sure somehow— somehow are you guys gonna know when they abstain? Well, yeah. Because the person, the recording secretary, is gonna have to know that. Well, because if you're only using it Right, because you're not calling out it. Not, not when they do a recorded vote. Yeah, when they do a recorded vote, it becomes an electronic vote. And there's a button that shows— which one is the abstain? It's the 3rd option, X. The X? So when you hit it, I have a vote open right now. You can see it live on the back end. You can, as the clerk, I can see it as well. You can see it live. As here, and you know what? He would never do this, but you could just sway his life. While they're voting. Yeah, yeah. So, and they changed this, by the way. I don't think you've seen it. It says the vote type on the top. Clearly, it'll say 213 majority depending on what it is and the results. Yeah, because I had seen— so here's the weird part. It calculates it fine when you're voting. Oh, okay. So you'll see it here. Well, that's good. And then before our recording secretary sees it. I would have to check that because it was when you closed the vote. So close the vote now. Did everybody vote? Uh, Pickles has not voted, but maybe we just close it anyway. Say he went to the bathroom. Stop, right? Just hit stop. It recalculates the abstain as no and puts it as no. That's the weird thing. It'll show Pickles went to the bathroom, didn't vote. And then, so if I wanted to display that again, what do I do? There's a result. See that no layer? Hit results. So if they say I want that back up there, we do this. Yeah. And then they'd be like, oh. Just for the record, right? And so it's going to be because it leaves the abstain up there. It's not like abstain goes away. Well, it tastes So we, in practice, we wouldn't do that. In practice, you wouldn't have a live result of who's voting, right? That's just for us to see, but on the back end, so even if you didn't have this— Okay, so if I start again, is it— does it redo the vote? It would. Okay, let's try it again. Okay. Okay, so I'm gonna still abstain. Here. Just pick the other 2 or Molly, however you want. That's— that's— I like that. So as a recording secretary, I think that it's important that you're going to be looking at this screen right now. But I am curious to know about the backend result. From— so, so this, this would be doing no layer during the vote, but I can see it over here on, on the screen as you guys can over there. So I see I see now that the total votes are done, and I would just say to the mayor, all votes are in. He'd go, okay, the votes are done. And then Does it do it automatically, Andy? It does. We have to stop the vote. Oh, right. So then I say all votes are in. And then it automatically comes on, but it'll only show once it's recalculated or formally calculated. So nobody would have seen that someone abstained. Which is problematic. Well, that's what I'm saying. So Martin came back and said right now we don't do it, but we could do a custom thing for you. But if they do it up there and they show it and they don't give me the number, that doesn't make any sense. Like, to Janine's point, if you're going to show the title and not show the number. I'm like, how is that a custom thing? You've got the title there. It's so weird. Because like the only options I guess in MDI is like abstain. Takes them out of your whole calculation, like some places do. Abstaining is not voting. Yeah, which is not what our procedures say. So it does the calculation, it displays it. As I guess properly in the sense that the motion is lost, but it doesn't show. But you'll never know who's abstained unless it's gonna pick that up on the report through MDI, which means you're always checking your MDI report when you have recorded votes to see if anyone happened to abstain so you can actually record it in the minutes properly. And what Susan sees on her screen when the voter is open, do we see that there too? Yeah, I'll have to be quick too if I can look at that and take the right— but if I missed it, it's gone. I see who abstained on this. No, you can't see who abstained, you just see abstained. You don't know who it is. Yes. Yes. So that's a problem. Because we won't be able to see that screen that went up there here. There might be a way. This is very customizable in the sense that we can probably put something there. Similar to what the, uh, what the mayor has on here. So I abstained. And it shows me as no. Beside you. Which is misleading. And it's misleading for our record because we would normally put abstained. Yeah. And although it does— it calculates into a no vote, and whether or not it gets carried or not, it's almost like I'd rather show 2 no votes, 1 abstain, 4 yes, and still have the result Carried, and he's saying that's, that's an extra cost. It's custom. Yeah, we can get a quote. He said. Doesn't make any sense. I can put it— he said I can put an email in front of it. Request, but they. Okay, I want to know what other people have to do with this. Okay, well, AJ asked me to just speak after every vote, so I can see what they're saying. Yeah, let's see what they do. Maybe I'll reach out to them to see specifically if it has a statement. Okay, even if there's no, um, a statement, let's just say it's nos and yeses. I don't see that tally at the bottom. On our screen. Of who said what. Total votes, not voted, required majority 4, actual majority 4. That's all it says, this part right here. Okay, that screen goes up for like 30 seconds. Not even. Stop. What's happening? We only see this. You don't see who did what. So how would you ever know unless you're like— so let me just see. No, but that's the shared screen. So when this— unless you're sharing that. You have to take off another layer, I think. See, this is what it would be. Yeah, so it doesn't show students voted. Good. It's not that bad. Go back to see the results of that program. Either you go to the results overlay. Yeah, I'm not sure how we're going to capture that from a minute perspective. So it's an ask to him, like, it's like, how do you— how is that captured? That's, that's the first ask because we can't see who voted how. Yeah, so, so ask him about that and see what he's, uh, I mean, he has this, he could, he can get to this meeting that you put in as a test. Can he get to this stuff? He can get to this. So maybe he can pull it from here because we did it today and we want to see because we did a couple votes with abstain. So we want to see if it shows it in the back end. At least if it shows in the back end report, it's not so bad because our official minutes then you can just— but you'll have to go pull that MBI report every time, which is so dumb. Like, the reports are for us. We should see as the votes come in. Right. Yeah. I think that's possible. Oh, he does see he's not voted here. But I don't think he sees how they voted, but we'll see. So if we open— start, let's start a vote. Because he sees— sees is not voted. I think it just takes them out of the queue. It does, right? Yeah, but it doesn't show how, it just shows up. So it shows you here there's a yes, but you don't know who it's attached to. Yeah, exactly. Let me put a concept in there too. See what happens. Okay, so then we stop the vote. Oh, it shows you at the bottom. Yes, no. Conflict, no, no, yes. Hang on. It shows you at the bottom who voted how. But it doesn't show you the abstained. It doesn't show you the abstained. Also, if you move on, you can't go back to it. results. As just tried. Right, but it's— but if it's logged in a report, that's okay. But it does show who voted how. And interestingly enough, it shows the conflict. It shows the conflict because it took the note of the calculation, I guess, right? Right, so really you only have 3, 4, 5— you only have 5 votes on this one. Because it doesn't even— and it just takes the abstaining out of the calculation as well. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. Where's the 7th vote? You all— you put a vote on everyone, correct? I did. Right, so total votes. And vote. Oh yes. Council's there. So I guess if you didn't press anything, it comes up as, as one vote. Where's that? What's not voted? I have no— not voted is abstaining. So that could be another option. Could we tell them not to press that button? If they abstain. Or— but then it won't calculate. Oh, and the calculation is the problem. Right, because there's only 6 votes up there right now. I think the issue is if we're telling them to see if it calculates now. something different. withdrawing it, then that's what it has to be displayed as now. Conflict is still there because we're asking it to. withdraw that person from the whole count. The challenge that I have with this is that you are giving them the option to abstain their vote. Which we know results in a no vote. They know that too. But when they abstain from a vote, it's a deliberate message they're sending. Right? And my challenge is that if MBI is providing us with yes, no, abstain, and conflict categories, it makes no sense to me why they have an abstain category. That doesn't actually note the abstention. Because the system should know abstention means nothing. And that means no, just like it knows conflict is not part of the tally. So it doesn't make any sense to me, that enhancement request, because they're already doing that for conflict. Because they're already saying to you, well, there's a conflict, so we know there's actually only 6 votes happening here. Right? And we know because 3 people voted no, that motion was lost. I want to redo this vote, and I want you to vote yes. want to try this out because it should also lose on a tie vote. If there's a conflict, 3 yeses and 3 nos, I want to see what that looks like. So we're going to start that vote over again. So I want— so I'm going to do up here. How many? What are you doing? You're doing yes. Okay, so you, Raleigh, do you do all yeses? You do all nos, and I'm going to do all yeses. I'm gonna hit conflict, which is what again? Uh, conflict is the last one, the end. Yeah, so I'm hitting yes to 3. And you're no, Andy. Okay, so I have 3 nos, 3 yeses. Okay, and a conflict. Motion lost because it was tied. So that works. So it does— again, does make any sense to me because it knows enough to factor in that conflict. So how does it not know to do the same for abstain? Okay, let's try it again. And we're going to, um, I'm going to do abstain and then you guys do no and yes. And what's abstain again? Uh, X. Yeah. So I'm all done. Yeah. It didn't start it. It started. It did start. Oh, okay. It won't show up there until I stop it. Did you hear Molly's birthday today, Janine? I know, I said that this morning. Okay, so now we have a, uh, yeah, so my abstain just goes right into a no. I'm still feeling that motion along as I just showed you, but yeah. I don't love that. Well, I don't think it's gonna be great yet, even though it's official. You know, at least what they could do is whoever abstained, beside their name, put abstain. Yeah, at the very least. Yeah, yeah. Honestly, I, I— if you have an abstain category, just like you— so I want you, I want you to go back. I want you to show me that. The conflict scenario. If the calculation is already there for that category, it makes no sense to me why it's an enhancement for another category. Yeah. Conflict already does it. It's the same premise, right? It's just that conflict knows to take them out of the equation from a number perspective of now what you're— what's your majority, because now you have 6 people instead of 7. Yeah. Right. Abstain is the same premise. It just knows that it becomes a no vote, but you still indicate the person is abstaining. Otherwise, having it— having heading abstain and having it say zero is very misleading, not only to everyone in the room, but to everyone just watching. And the recording secretary. Like, I would phrase it that way to him. I go, that's not— like, procedurally, that's a problem. Yeah, 100%. And I think Ajax, their abstain is also a no vote. In the procedure bylaw. Most— I think most are. That's all that I've ever— so I'll reach out to Ajax, see what they're doing too, but I'll reach out with the enhancement request email and I'll Okay, the scenarios, but Yeah. Okay. I tried to— there's no tincture of upwards. Sure, that was, uh, my next one. So under delegations, you can see What's that? Do you assess all of them? See here. So there's 7 numbers. 2/3 is 5. You need 5. So you should do 5 no all over there. Andy does no. And I'll do 1 no. You do 1 no and then do 2 yeses. Uh, we have a late registration for a Lisa Robinson. Can I get a motion for a 2/3 majority to approve that, please? That's not us debating deleting her from the system. She might come as a public delegate. She's a big great message. I'd like to clarify something. Oh, she's— you don't think she's coming as a delegate? Oh, she's gonna be here all the time. 100%. 100%. I think she's too proud that she wouldn't know. Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, no, she's coming. Oh God, she's coming. Oh, I can't sort it again. Okay, so did work. Well, yeah. Right? 2/3, you need 5. You only got 2. Even if you'd only gotten 3, you didn't have to do all of them. Let's do it again. I actually only need 3 nos. Yeah, so do— I'll do a no. And we do a no here and do a no beside you and do the rest yes. What's kind of cool is if you leave this layer on, you can actually see the results in live time. So if I do all yeses— can you hear my vote for Pacific? Yep. Okay, so it still loses on 4 to 3. That's right, because, because you need 5, right? Okay, right, so that calculates correctly. Yep. It's like, I'll just say, like, from a user experience, it's— I know it stops blinking the choice that you have selected once you vote, but it does take a minute to, like, realize that you have voted. Yeah, and you have the ability to change your vote until it hits stop. Yeah, like I could see someone pressing multiple times just to make sure that they got it. And when you press it and press it again, it's like, oh, it's blinking. And again, it takes it off. Um, let's— is this still on or is it still started or is it stopped? I stopped. Okay, let's start it again. But I do know No, it doesn't do anything. It's only if you change your selection. Okay, so while the others are flashing and the one is static, you know your vote has been— so I can now change it to no. Yeah, and then the others blink. So they have to be patient and look at it, pay attention. This would be part of the training we do with them, right? Yeah, exactly. Okay. Okay. All right, well, talk to Martin about that thing because I'm like, I'm actually like thinking If they don't vote, It shows not voted. But that doesn't go form— doesn't form into the calculation. Yeah, which is a problem or something, right? So yeah, right, not voted, then she shouldn't be in the calculation. She's not in space, right? That's different. So that needs to stay because then that takes your members voting down to 6. So that actually needs to stay the way it is. No one's at the seat to vote, then it's not voted. But I am not loving that whole thing. To me, the abstain and the conflict work the exact same way, just different calculations. And it shouldn't be an enhancement request. You've got the data right there. Let's break the code. Right. Yeah, okay, okay, we'll try that. I think it'd be less of a coding thing because right now they're saying if this, if this turns on put it into this. Instead of in this, put it into this and count it instead of if this turns on, count it. Keep it displaying the same way if you can, right? But just calculate it as for that bottom thing to say motion lost. Yeah. Yeah, he didn't give me a charge. He just said if we do request it, it would be an extra charge. But I'll just— but the question is, what's the rationale behind that when your conflict is already set? up to do that in a different format. That's the question. Okay, yeah. Okay. Uh, delegation. So you're 2/3 vote, so we let Janine come to the board. Thank you. So when there's an in-person delegation, so when they hit the mic up there, I get them here as a— to release them as well as the chair. That's great. Yes, I think we should just set it up the same. Yeah. Yeah, because he— if he has an unruly delegate, he's also wanting to shut their mic off. We don't want them to have the ability to turn it back on again. That's the issue we had before here. the delegations. Yes, that's right. So no, that's exactly how it should be. They don't get to speak unless he releases them, and if he turns them off, they don't get to turn back on again on their own. Can you turn it on to me? I'm here to talk about— so I didn't get a request to speak for her. All things. Did you? Oh no, she's— so she's got flashing green. So you know why? you. Okay, so undo that. So when he calls the person up to speak, I have to quit. Oh, okay. So I show her as in the middle of the dais right now. She's not, she's not at her delegation podium. Oh, sorry. Okay, so then, and now I'm just requested to speak. Yeah, now so try to speak. I'm here to talk about— now the one challenging thing with this space, because I haven't released her, so there's no microphone sound, but That person is— how'd you hear them when they were up there? They're not on the microphone? No. Yeah, I can't tell. It's the dome. And they will they could create all sorts— they could start yelling and he'd be calling to order, calling to order. It's going to be the same issue. Because here, I'm going to release you to speak. I'm here to talk about many things that are happening in the city. Marginally different. Because I hear you coming through my speaker now. But if I— if you start getting unruly and I take you off, And I keep talking because what I'm saying is right and what you're saying is wrong. Right, and I'm saying order, order, order, order, order, call to order, call to order. I don't even hear myself. Do you hear me? I don't. So I'm going to say, excuse me, excuse me, Janine, Janine, Janine, Janine. Okay, order, order, DRPS. This is it, but this is like, so that, so like, so then you're just, then you're angry or whatever, but it's like, honestly, like, it's It's the same premise of the problems we have before. No, there's not snow on his table. Check that. Okay, wait, turn your mic on again or request to speak. I have very important things to say. I don't think— I think I was leaning before as well. It's more severe. Should it be the same? Reaction every time. Did her timer start? I think I wore lip gloss. Okay, I'm going to take you off the machine. So 4:21, hit your button again, please. Please stop cutting me off. Delicate for her arm, but I kept cutting him. It's set for 5 minutes and it's supposed to be done. And you can place all that too, so on your mayor's panel you should have a place to start and stop it. Okay, so weirdly enough, at the bottom here it tells me Maurice Brennan, Linda Cook, and David Pickles are not loaded. Why is that there? I want to let you chime in on that as well because I want to hear the audience. time. Like, even when you leave the item up there, you know more. Like, this is gonna be— this has to be it because that's the only people I see not voted. But what is that for? There, you stopped it there. How it started. It shouldn't, right? Reach your back against me. I'd like to continue now. I don't have all night. Right, which that means like it's almost like the last item that was an electronic vote is holding. On his, um, what do you call this thing? I want one of the candles right now because I want to hear that shine. Whoa, did it restart? It did because we toggled off of the item. So when— so the 2-minute one is a different color on purpose. No, I think they're green. It's always green. Okay, I think they're green. Okay. Okay, so do the 2-minute one again. And you're supposed to speak into the back here. Let's just see what that looks like at the end. I think after 30 seconds it goes to yellow. At 30 seconds, there's a chime. 30 seconds remaining. Is that what it says? Wait, I thought there was a chime. Is there no chime? When you're done, it doesn't start moving the mic off? Oh. What? Oh, right. It is not down. 30 seconds remaining. I want more than 30 seconds. Can I have a motion for 2 more minutes? Starts to blink when the 30 seconds is— it's been blinking the whole time. I think so. I'm pretty sure it was blinking the whole time. Is it still on? Can you hear me still? Yeah, it's, it's, yeah, it's still on, but that's weird that it blinks because mine doesn't blink when it's on. I think it was blinking. We'll try it again. And that concludes your delegation. Thank you for coming out tonight. But you can keep talking, right? I can keep talking. So he has to click her to get her out of there? He would, yes. Mm. But then, so what has to happen now is that I guess the operator at this point, after the initial statement's done, has to deactivate— well, he can do it too, but— I guess the way I'm thinking was the operator and the recording secretary. Why does he show up in there? Why do I show up in my own Is that normal? That's just current speaker. This is the request. Okay, so he— they'd all show up here. Janine, can you put your thing on again to request to speak? Okay. It does. It's still flashing. Yeah, it's funny because mine doesn't blink. Does yours blink, Ramali, when it's on? Actually, it's also very counterintuitive that it's red when you're speaking and green when you're not. It doesn't blink, it just stays red for me. Mine too. So it's weird, the mics up here are— so, and that blinks. That's kind of strange. I'm curious to see that. So, so see, this is why I— so after the delegate speaks, I have to turn off timers, right? Because it applies to the members. Because now members that are asking questions— yeah, so that's a step for the operator to know they have to deactivate timers after the delegate initially speaks. Is that a question? Oh, Jesus Christ, this is gonna be brutal. There's a bit of a learning thing. So. Anyways, who started this whole thing with this system and technology? Whoever the first person was to do this should be taken outside and smacked around. Like, seriously, come on. So yeah, anyways, that's how it happened. Then they do their Q&A. the next person comes. So it stopped flashing. Which is— am I off now? No, you're not. I'm not sure what the heck flashing means. So yeah, so why was it flashing? Now it's not flashing. Oh no, you're still— oh, she's still on. Oh, you're still on. Your timer at 4 minutes. Yeah, I reset it to 5, so perhaps— okay, let's just go to 2 minutes. Let's see what happens at 30 seconds. But it was flashing when we— when I first started. It was like the full 5 minutes. Okay, I'm going to take you out, Janine, and we're going to put you back in. Request to speak again, please. Now it's not flashing. That's so weird. It was totally flashing. It definitely was flashing. It totally was. I was— and I was puzzled why, because ours don't flash. Ours are just completely static red. Hey. Oh, I'm at 5 minutes again though. Did you bump it? I changed it. Yeah. Feeling generous today. It's weird, like, I don't have that much to say. And also sometimes when I'm talking, I hear it so much louder than other times. It's like These— I don't like— it's almost like I moved the box and it gets louder. It's so weird. These are so dusty. Okay, so there you go, individual speech timer. Okay, I hit it by accident. Flight turned off. I'm gonna just go back. Yeah, it's not flashing now. Let's see if it flashes at 30 seconds. But you had way more than 30 seconds when it was flashing before, because that was my thought too. I thought, oh no, Wait, this— like, time's got tons still. It makes sense. that it would start to flash at 30 seconds. It's flashing. Because flashing green means you're in the request to speak queue. I love the tomatoes from home. Well, what would you like to talk about? This makes me tired. Like, my brain is really like, you can't do it. Right. Oh my God, are you going away next week? Oh. Staying home. Pajama days. Yeah. And Therm-a-Rest. That's nice. Yeah, I like this. I, so I really like this. It's flashing again. So it is. Maybe it's a minute. Maybe when you have— I'll ask it. But I do like that pit, like out for the delegate. And I kind of like, like, to me that makes total sense because people should see both. 30 seconds remaining. Does it matter where I point it? That's really good, and I love what's on our screens right in front of us. You don't have to look anywhere. It's like really clear. Everyone can read it well. I like that a lot. Yeah, I can totally see when, um, when that 30— you have 30 seconds to remaining something going, because if you're speaking, you won't really be paying attention to that. It'll be like, sorry, what did you say, Miriam? Oh right, I wonder if they're going to be like, uh, you have 30 seconds remaining. Well, it's more likely they're gonna look at me. Oh yeah, what did she say? It's a woman's voice. I said you had 30 seconds. Wrap it up. No need to turn on that mic. You can hear me loud and clear. But then, okay, so one thing I want to— just in terms of timers. Thank you. Can we just take a minute to talk about roles? Okay, so hypothetically it's you or Jeanine that we're going to be— are going to be the operators of MBI at any given meeting. Ramali is going to be recording secretary. There are times when that's going to be operator and recording secretary because Ramali is going to be clerk. for P&D staff meetings, hypothetically, or when I'm somewhere else glorious. Somewhere nicer. Somewhere nicer than this. His face. So. My role is really obviously to guide the chair. I'm going to be letting him know all the votes are in. I might, I might just say, okay, all the votes are in. I'm stopping the meeting. I'm stopping the vote. Like, I might audibly say that so that people can hear it. I'm going to be starting and stopping votes. I'm going to be doing amendments. Yes, which will just be clicking in. I'm going to be doing amendments. Or is the operator doing amendments? Who's doing amendments? That's a great question. Okay, whatever you feel comfortable— because once you get the meeting going and it's rolling and you've gone through delegations, yes. There isn't anything else to do, correct? Yeah, the most you'd have to do is display Microsoft Word for your motion, right? So I think you guys as operators are doing amendments. Okay, so that's just like adding the third slice of jewelry. Why did we initially think you were doing amendments? Yeah, there was a reason. But you were like, because we're seeing votes in general. But yeah, you just— but there may not be a recorded vote on that. It's just getting the amendment up there. Oh yes, those amendments. Yes, so that would be us for sure. I think that discussion that we talked about is like on the fly. They're giving you warning. Well, no, no, I'm still not doing that because you guys have the ability to share the screen. I don't have that, so you've got to make the document over there. Yeah, so we have word ready to go. They'll have to make— I just have to like have to make sure that you and I are on the same page. Whoever's writing it out. Oh right, because that's usually recorded in the secretary. What do you mean whoever's writing it out? Like, usually you come in like amendments like on the fly before if they ask you to like put it up, put it on the slide. Just want to make sure that you're okay with that wording. You can email it to me. Yeah, that's the only way. Yeah, the only way you can do it. Right. I mean, that happens pretty rarely. Wait, what? We usually know in advance during a meeting. Sorry, I missed that. They're emailing during the meeting? Well, I mean, she's saying that if somebody gave an amendment on the fly and she wants to be sure that we're okay with the wording, like that I'm on the same page as her, is what she's saying. Captured. She could email it to me to look at it before I say yes, and then she displays it. So she'd have the picture and I'm like, give me a minute. Yeah, I'll see the wording. And you know what, I don't mind taking time for that because they shouldn't be doing that to us. Yeah, they're supposed to do that ahead of time, right? And that's how we want to train them, right? Yeah. Motions where they're like, oh, how about we do this? Like something like this. They don't even like give clear wording sometimes, right? And they kind of ramble on and you have to figure out the wording. It's those situations, right? Or they're actually reading— they have something typed out, right? And they really don't want— and don't forget, sometimes that happens while the debate's going on. Yeah. So sometimes I get a heads up from them, I need to amend this and this is my wording. And then I look at it and I'm like, no, this doesn't work. How about this? Okay, yeah, that works. And then I flip it to you. Yeah. And then you quickly copy paste into a Word doc. Yeah. So that's usually how that goes. If it's on the fly, they're just gonna have to wait. Yeah. Like on-the-fly amendments, recording secretary, but then if it was included in the SIP, operator, right? Does that work? I think that works because We already have it pre-done. Okay. It's on the screen. Yeah. So again, I'm just starting and stopping votes in MBI, right? Or— So there's an amendment. Well, I guess I've— the way I've set it up right now is that for each individual agenda item, I just have an individual vote. If you need to add a majority vote, right, you just click on that and add another one, which— and you can rename it amendment if you wanted to, which is basically easy. Right. I'll have at least get a vote preset. And then as far as the eScribe stuff, you're toggling eScribe as well. Right. Okay, which Martin said they're now in talks with eScribe. Potential. You've been saying that since we spoke. Exactly. I've been in talks with them for 2 years. Work on the abstain vote, Martin. Okay. Um, just while we're on speech timers, if we're on like an agenda item, right? So they're discussing and then the mayor wants to So that the mayor needs to start the debate timers, he would press the activate. And then now you'd be like, okay, now I invite debate. Hit your button. Okay, uh, any debate? Uh, Councilor Brunner. Yes, I debate this. I want to give a grant to this Legion instead. Okay. So I debate this. I debate this. If there is another person— oh, I see. Do you need help with the side channels? Yeah. Hello. Okay, we've heard you say what you want to say. Councilor Cook has the floor. So I take him out and then I put him back in and the timer still gives him the rest of his 5 minutes. I like that. Yeah, I think that's good. Individual timers, they're all good and they're all set at 5 minutes because the agenda item is set at 5 minutes, right? And they all start at 5 and they just keep— right, so he shouldn't be touching anything. over here when they're doing that because it would mess it up. Yeah, if he wanted to be generous and give some extra, he has those options. Yeah. No, but just so if, if the members had all spoken, you get a member saying, you know, you know, you know, I'd like to know, I'd like to speak or whatever, and then they hit the button to go into the queue. Can you hit your button and count, sir? And like, you know, I wanna speak. And then like, okay. Councillor Blair, you've already spoken, but I'm going to give you an additional 2 minutes. But that changes everybody in there, so I would take— I have to take these guys out. Because it changes them, all of them. Oh, because they're still in there. And everyone's time keeps counting. Yeah, when you switched it over to me. It's one or all. So I can't, I can't have one at 5. They all, they're all at 5. Like, so whatever this changes, so he can only give somebody else extra minutes if, if, if they were the only one in the queue. No talking at the same time. No, no, but I'm saying if, if members were in there talking already, they shouldn't be. They shouldn't have multiple people in there at the same time. Yeah. Right, from a decorum standpoint, there should be one person doing debate at a time. You get your 5 minutes. It's like, yep, okay, okay, yep, your time is up. Thank you very much. Okay. Councilor Blair, you, you have the floor. They would be a new person and they'd come in with their full 5 because I will have them still down here. You have Brenner speaking, you don't have cross— you don't have 2 members speaking at the same time. No, you shouldn't. You shouldn't, right? So that's why if he's ever assigned extra time, it should only be one person here. That's right, that's right. Yeah, so it would save the time. Right, so I would just say get them all out of there, and then it's like— and I think for Lawan, you're like, you're gonna have to request to speak again. Like, I would say that to him, and then he's gonna be like hitting the button. I imagine I'm gonna be up and out of my chair quite a few times showing them what to do for the first little while. I mean, we don't have to have those buttons if it is confusing, but I think it would just be training the chair that once we enter debate, he has to activate speech time. No, I'd like him to have the control. I think it— I don't want— I don't want to be controlling that, and I don't want— I don't want to be in charge of that, right? And it's just easier for him to do it. Yeah, so it's every— I am, let's say, after debate, he wants to activate it, he has the power to activate it. To the active speaker. Yeah. Okay. Are we done, Andy? I think we're pretty much done. We just did everything major that I wanted to test. I am so tired. This has been a week, man. That was all the major stuff. Excellent. I have a major list. As you do every time we use this space. I know, I thought I had it pretty much figured out up until we get in and start playing, and then I It's like, what was that? Okay, overall though, we're feeling more comfortable with it. I feel so comfortable with it. You feel— I'm so thankful for you, Andy, doing all of this for us. Because honestly, I don't have the capacity for it, and it's a lot. Especially with what we've just come through. So I do really appreciate getting your head around all this stuff. Well, I think it'll be good once we get the new example. Even inaugural, once we go through a full live meeting, I think we'll feel comfortable. Yeah, well, and that walkthrough on the 12th for inaugural will be good because we should do a full walkthrough through using the system, and then everybody knows what to expect, right? And when we fixed that issue with the camera, basically there was just configurations. Martin was like, well, it sets you on overview dedicated camera. Oh, doesn't hurt. Where were you in the build project? Because I'm pretty sure he was there all along the way. He said he suggested it, then they talked to him. They said it wasn't necessary. We don't start up church. So anyways. What was happening was that one camera, the way it was— the first, second, primary, or first, second, tertiary cameras were all set up. It was using the same camera for the overview and then pivoting over here. To that view, but now it's set up as 2 separate cameras. So it'll do your procession coming in here, no problem? It'll just— yeah. Okay, so fix that issue. Okay. Otherwise, we're good. The mic's working, it's more sensitive. We're good for now, y'all. Nothing to worry about. So those room controls though, to avoid that feedback, do you have to do something to preset that to take the volumes down? I did the second time we— You already did it? Yeah, I just did. So now they're safe. So gallery is set to 60, which seemed to make the difference. And the in-camera, the mic volume, can we go into closed session for a minute and just try them? Mic volume to see what that's like, because that was part of the issue before. A little bit, yeah. It was just— it was a lot quieter, but I think why it was quieter is because the sound's not Oh, that's why you noticed it. I think that, that was the issue. Oh, that's interesting. Okay, which I think we don't want to go to the gallery. The less sound going that direction. Yeah, agreed. Agreed. They can all hear— your voice carries enough, and that horseshoe is just a dog. So I'll go into closed. It does, but do you hear it back? No, I just want to craft my email. I used to be very much, but you can finger punch it. I'm not gonna watch. All right, I'll catch you in a little bit. Yeah, see you upstairs. Unless you need something from me. You need something? I think we're good. We're good. That's a voice. It's so good. Uh, we're casting out. What's going on? I'm just curious. See what the final— pretty close to being the final product, eh? This is it. We're just working out the kinks with the technology now. Sorry. We're just working out the kinks with the technology. Yeah, but, uh, it'll be pretty cool once it's all going. Whenever someone activates a mic, it puts them on screen and you should be able to hear them without echo, but we're just working on the sound quality right now. Yeah, yeah. But then if anyone needs to speak to council, they just come up here. Yeah,…
